The 2025 Season is well underway and the fishing at both Lochs has been excellent with some fantastic catches recorded.

We were able to source top quality fish for both lochs and we need you out fishing to catch them! The more angling effort the more we have in the pot for the next stocking.

The committee have been busy at Balhomish cutting back the lily beds before they gain momentum and this has paid dividends with some outstanding catches. Fish are actively feeding along the margins of the weed beds and the loch is full of buzzers, hatching chironomids (whatever they are) and iron blue duns.

Butterstone took a week or so to get going but is now in its prime with good catches on all the usual methods. Pike angling has also been superb with those specifically targetting them having great sport.

On the river, Dave Maxwell has had 2 close encounters with Salmon, unfortunately parting company with both.
