Butterstone was recently stocked ahead of the opening on the 1st of April.

Once again we have secured top quality, hard fighting stock averaging 2.5lb’s with some considerably larger specimens amongst them.

Butterstone tend to fish well early season and those who put in the time to locate the fish and their food of choice reep the benefits. Me, a fast stripped Yellow Dancer does just fine.

As always, please show restraint and only take fish you have a genuine use for and no more than your bag limit of 2 fish per session. The committee respectfully requests that any fish over 5lb are returned unharmed as these will provide sport for many and cost an arm and a leg!

After catching your limit, or if you are fishing Catch and Release, please use barbless/ de-barbed hooks to minimize damage and where possible keep the fish in the water in the net to reduce stress.

This is your fishery, look after it and self police it. If you observe anything suspicious, please contact a member of the committee.
